Zuckerberg launches Meta Enteprise Platform

Meta’s Next Big Business Could Be AI for Companies

by Dee Miller

Mark Zuckerberg is turning Meta’s latest AI push into a new business.

Meta has announced Meta Enterprise Platform, a new division that will sell its AI technology directly to companies and developers.

The platform will bring together products including Muse, Meta Business Agent, Muse API and Muse Code, giving businesses access to the same AI infrastructure Meta is building for its own products.

To lead it, Zuckerberg has hired CJ Desai, the former CEO of MongoDB, as Meta’s new Chief Enterprise Platform Officer. Desai previously held senior roles at ServiceNow and Cloudflare, giving Meta an experienced enterprise operator to build the new division.

The announcement comes just weeks after Meta launched Muse, its new personal AI agent.

Unlike a traditional chatbot, Muse is designed to actually complete tasks. It can browse the web, fill in forms, shop, book travel and connect with other services on a user’s behalf.

Muse has already become a major part of Zuckerberg’s wider AI strategy, with Meta bringing it into its apps, AI glasses and new hardware.

Now the company is taking the same technology into business.

For years, Meta has spent billions building some of the world’s most powerful computing infrastructure mainly to support Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp. Meta Enterprise Platform signals that Zuckerberg now wants to turn that infrastructure into a business of its own.

Google has Cloud. Microsoft has Azure. Amazon has AWS.

Meta now wants its own major enterprise AI platform.

And Muse could sit right at the centre of it.

This feels much closer to the SEMINAL format: quick context, clear significance, then the bigger takeaway.
